Origin Story

By Pieter Levels

The Problem

As a digital nomad in 2014, there was no good way to compare cities for remote work based on internet speed, cost, and safety.

Building It

Started as a spreadsheet in 2014. Built the first version in a weekend. Grew to $400K+/month with zero employees.

First Customer

The Google Spreadsheet version went viral on Hacker News. People immediately started paying for access to the data.

What It Means

The ultimate proof that one person can build a multi-million dollar business with no employees, no funding, and no complicated tech stack.

The Dream

To keep building useful products solo and prove that indie making is a viable path for anyone.
