Open SourceFree TierAdded Dec 1, 2020

About

Logseq is a local-first, open-source outliner and knowledge management tool. Organize your notes with bidirectional linking, daily journals, a graph view, and block-level references. Data stored in plain text files on your device. A popular open-source alternative to Roam Research for people who value data ownership.

Origin Story

By Tienson Qin

The Problem

Roam Research was powerful but proprietary and stored notes in the cloud. Wanted the same bidirectional linking and outlining in an open-source, local-first tool.

Building It

Launched in 2020. Grew through the PKM (personal knowledge management) community. Active open-source development.

What It Means

Your knowledge base should be open source and stored in plain text files you own.

The Dream

To be the best open-source tool for thinking and organizing knowledge.
