Josh wanted to build a web app but didn't want to write code — and found that no existing tool could produce a real, functional application from a visual editor.
Development began in 2012, with a public launch in 2017 and explosive growth following a viral post by a non-technical founder who built a marketplace on Bubble.
The first paying users were entrepreneurs who had previously paid $50K+ for custom development and were thrilled to launch real apps for under $50/month.
Bubble proved that software development doesn't require code, opening entrepreneurship to millions of people who had ideas but lacked technical skills.
A world where anyone with an idea can build and ship a real product, regardless of their programming background.
